U.S. News University Directory Publishes U.S. News & World Report 2016 Best Graduate Schools Rankings
The trusted authority on higher education has published a brand-new listing of the nation's top graduate schools.
TAMPA, Fla., March 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. News University Directory is proud to bring the U.S. News & World Report 2016 Best Graduate Schools to all education-seekers looking to pursue advanced credentials. This report provides the definitive ranking of institutions that award master's, doctoral and professional degrees within their specific areas of study.
New rankings for business, education, engineering, law and medical schools appear in this edition. Nursing master's programs were ranked according to both statistical and reputation data for the first time, as well as 10 nursing specialties that were ranked according to reputation data only. The Nursing rankings will be published annually following this year's inaugural release.
The 2016 Best Graduate Schools also include peer-assessment-only rankings in five healthcare disciplines: healthcare management, physician assistant, public health, rehabilitation counseling and veterinary medicine. These were last updated in 2011.
Rankings for other programs, such as science doctorates and fine arts master's degrees, were not updated in the 2016 edition. However, the existing rankings in these areas – labeled with the year they were originally published – will continue to be available.
U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data indicate that holding a graduate degree can mean a higher salary and better job security. In 2013, median weekly earnings were $1,329 for professionals who held a master's degree and $1,623 for those who held a doctorate. Compare that to $1,108 for bachelor's degree holders and $626 for workers with only a high school diploma. And while the average unemployment rate was 6.1% that year, it was less than 4% for those who held graduate degrees.
The 2016 Best Graduate School Rankings are available now on usnews.com and USNewsUniversityDirectory.com. The print edition will hit newsstands on April 7, 2015.
