WASHINGTON, Aug. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in education rankings, today announced the addition of User Ratings and Reviews to Best Colleges profiles on usnews.com. This new content will serve as a platform for current students and alumni to share their college experiences and to answer prospective students' questions about campus culture, dining, extracurricular organizations, teaching styles and more.
"Students and families researching colleges consider education quality as well as nonacademic factors like campus life, housing and food," said Mike Nolan, general manager and vice president of Education at U.S. News. "With the addition of user reviews, our Best Colleges platform is a one-stop shop, providing insider perspectives on campus life along with rankings that focus on the academic quality of schools."
The new section includes:
- User ratings on a 5-point scale, for both the school overall and individual categories, such as city and setting, activities and social life, health and safety, and dining and food.
- School reviews from students, parents, alumni, staff and others.
- A Q&A portion where current students and alumni can post answers, sharing their experiences and advice for future undergraduates.
User Ratings and Reviews furthers U.S. News' mission of providing helpful information to students and their families in their college search. The information does not influence the Best Colleges rankings or methodology, which are based on numerous factors of academic quality.
To ask questions, share your school experience or offer advice for future students, visit your school's profile on usnews.com/colleges and submit a review.
