SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Good Technology™, the leader in secure mobility, today announced that the U.S. Navy has implemented the HP Mobile Management Solution leveraging Good for Enterprise® to secure official government data on multiple mobile device platforms. The Good Technology solution enables the Navy to offer more device choices to U.S. Navy personnel while securing their mission-critical data.
The use of mobile devices is transforming how the U.S. Navy supports and connects personnel and its fleet. As the industry continues to transition to a broader range of smartphones and tablets, the Navy chose to adopt a model that would support a broader range of device choices, while ensuring the strictest levels of data security.
In response, HP implemented Good for Enterprise (GFE) across the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) network to securely mobilize content and apps on DoD-issued smartphone devices as part of the Navy's Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) contract. Good Technology offers the market-leading secure container solution that securely separates government data from personal data. The Good container enables users to perform work-related and personal activities on the same device, while meeting the security requirements needed to protect the Navy enterprise.
"Government customers today require both innovation and a great user experience while meeting the most rigorous security standards," said Christy Wyatt, chairman and CEO at Good Technology. "We are honored to partner with HP to transition U.S. Navy onto modern platforms, securely connecting them to data and great apps, across devices, while improving mission efficiency and success."
By leveraging the unique and innovative application containerization model of the Good Dynamics® Secure Mobility Platform, GFE provides a secure perimeter around agency data, separating users' personal data and apps and allowing simple, remote removal of the Good container should the device be lost or stolen. Additionally, GFE is the only cross-platform mobile collaboration solution to achieve EAL4+ certification, and the only solution to meet this level on either iOS or Android. The Good solution also supports other mandated authentication and security credentials, including DoD Directive 8100.2, HSPD-12 and FIPS-validated encryption.
"Over the past year, HP has worked with the NGEN Program Office to modernize NMCI in ways that improve the end user experience," said Denby Starling, Vice President and Account Executive, Navy and Marine Corps at HP. "As part of this ongoing transformation, we are proud to partner with Good Technology to bring Navy personnel the ability to connect anywhere, anytime with an expanded mobile device choice."
