AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- This month, U.S. Money Reserve hosted a special dinner in honor of a cherished partnership with the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation (USNMF). Guest of honor and president & CEO of USNMF, retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Frank Thorp, was welcomed in Austin, Texas at the historic Driskell Hotel where he thanked the U.S. Money Reserve team for their continued support in furthering its mission to honor the men and women of the Sea Services, past, present, and future.
Introduced by U.S. Money Reserve's Senior Director of Sales, Hosea Perkins, RADM Thorp captivated U.S. Money Reserve team members throughout the evening and spoke on the partners' shared vision in supporting veterans. One reoccuring theme that he discussed was that of "alignment". RADM Thorp reflected on how rare it is to have two organizations with such similar core values – including integrity, respect, and camaraderie – come together in pursuit of a shared mission: to provide the highest level of service and continually appreciate our service men and women.
"Our team feels proud, humbled, and privileged of our continued partnership with the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation," said U.S. Money Reserve CEO, Angela Koch. "It is our duty as Americans to support our veterans. To be able to honor our service men and women by working together with USNMF, with the dedicated support of our loyal customers, is incredibly rewarding."
In a gesture of appreciation, RADM Thorp presented every team member in attendance a U.S Navy Memorial Challenge Coin.
"We have a tradition in the military where Commanders present Challenge Coins to our Sailors, and to others, as tokens of appreciation to those who work hard in their commitment to the mission," explained RADM Thorp.
In this case, the honorary coins were gifted in acknowledgement of U.S. Money Reserve's dedicated efforts that helped build and erect the Lone Sailor Statue in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. U.S. Money Reserve continues to honor veterans and support the USNMF by donating $5 to the organization from each Pearl Harbor coin purchased.
"With the support of U.S. Money Reserve, we were able to dedicate the Lone Sailor Statue in Pearl Harbor last year," remembered RADM Thorp. "I have gained an incredible appreciation of their personal and professional commitment to supporting our troops and supporting our veterans."
Additionally, a highly regarded Flag of Valor was unveiled at the dinner to the U.S. Money Reserve team. The flag – purchased in silent auction by attending U.S. Money Reserve team members during the USNMF's Lone Sailor Awards Dinner in Washington, D.C., this past September – will be displayed and honored in the U.S. Money Reserve office in Austin, TX.
"I am so impressed with the commitment that U.S. Money Reserve demonstrates and to the culture of honor, recognize and celebrate that they live everyday," added RADM Thorp. "Our future together is bright."
