US Labor Department's Employee Benefits Security Administration to host free Spanish-language retirement savings webcast June 22
Webcast to offer free advice on money management and saving for retirement
WASHINGTON, June 17, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --The U.S. Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration will host its first Spanish-language "Guide to Retirement Saving" webcast on June 22. The free event will be co-sponsored by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. in coordination with the National Council of La Raza.
"We are very pleased to add a Spanish webcast to our ongoing series of financial education events," said Assistant Secretary of Labor for EBSA Phyllis Borzi. "Now, more than ever, it is important that we reach as many workers as possible and let them know about the steps that can be taken today to ensure their future financial security."
The webcast will help participants get started with saving for retirement by explaining how to set goals and make saving a personal priority. It is designed to provide money management advice both to young people who are interested in starting to save now and to individuals who are close to retirement.
For more than 10 years, the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards and the Labor Department have had a successful partnership, including the preparation of the popular English-language publication Savings Fitness, available at http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/pdf/savingsfitness.pdf, and the development of the Spanish version, Su Dinero & Futuro Economico, available at http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/pdf/savingsfitnesssp.pdf.
The webcast will be hosted on Wednesday, June 22, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. EDT. Participants can register at http://s.dol.gov/G5.
