Prior to becoming Energy Secretary, Dr. Moniz* held several U.S. government advisory positions. From 1997 to 2001 during the Clinton Administration, he was U.S. under secretary of energy and earned a reputation as an outspoken proponent of nuclear energy and natural gas.
