U.S. Energy Official, Indianapolis Mayor to Discuss Electric Vehicle Preparedness

What: U.S. Department of Energy Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy David Danielson, and Mayor of the City of Indianapolis Gregory Ballard will address a gathering of electric drive industry leaders and experts at the 2013 Electric Drive Transportation Association Conference.
Dr. Danielson and Mayor Ballard will participate as keynote speakers to discuss electric vehicle preparedness, the need to accelerate technology adoption and provide updates on federal and local efforts.

Assistant Secretary Danielson is directing U.S. Department of Energy efforts to accelerate electric drive adoption with the goal of energy security. Meanwhile, Mayor Greg Ballard is taking on the fight against foreign oil at a local level. Mayor Ballard signed an Executive Order to make Indianapolis the first major city in the United States to pledge to convert its entire municipal non-police fleet to electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles by 2025.
