U.S. Department of State Announces New York City Marketing and Reputation Strategist Davia Temin as Delegate to Greece
NEW YORK, April 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Davia Temin, founder and CEO of marketing, reputation, and media strategy company Temin and Company, has been tapped by the U.S. Department of State to serve as a Delegate in the Global Entrepreneurship Program's Entrepreneurship Delegation to Greece.
In partnership with Greece, the U.S. Department of State's Global Entrepreneurship Program (GEP) and the U.S. Embassy in Athens will lead an Entrepreneurship Delegation to Greece on April 28-30th, 2014. The delegation will be led by GEP Director Caron De Mars, of the State Department's Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs. As Greece takes on the EU Presidency and faces unemployment challenges, the U.S. government would like to take concrete steps to encourage further entrepreneurship and economic growth of our important European ally.
The U.S. Department of State has asked 11 prominent U.S. role-model entrepreneurs and investors, including Ms. Temin, to meet with senior Greek officials and the Greek private sector to discuss the key entrepreneurial opportunities and challenges for Greece. They will also meet one-on-one and with groups of local entrepreneurs to promote participation in key areas of entrepreneurship development, learn about one another's businesses, and establish lasting connections. These connections can add to the supply chain to benefit both U.S. and Greek businesses.
"Entrepreneurship is one of the most powerful catalysts in recovering from the effects of the economic downturn, and has proven to be critical in returning to economic equilibrium – both in the U.S. and globally," says Ms. Temin. "It is not surprising that Greece is seeing a dramatic spike in the number of entrepreneurial start-ups. With the recession still ongoing, individuals are finding new and inventive ways to make a living, while offering innovative services and products poised to transform the Greek marketplace and economy."
Founder and CEO of Temin and Company, a boutique management consultancy focused on crisis and reputation management, marketing and media strategy, and high-level leadership coaching, Ms. Temin will bring first-hand leadership and entrepreneurial experience, as well as insight gained through her consulting practice, to entrepreneurs in Greece. She started Temin and Company in the middle of a successful corporate career – finding herself driven to explore an independent, entrepreneurial venture. In her practice, Ms. Temin coaches CEOs, nonprofits, and businesses at the highest levels – on leadership issues, branding, risk and crisis management, and digital visibility.
Ms. Temin will co-lead a panel on marketing and public relations.
"Whenever one starts a new venture, the right kind of marketing is essential," she states. "But the wrong kind of marketing just wastes time, energy and money. I've spent my career learning how to effectively and efficiently help businesses grow, raise their visibility, and develop their reputation as the go-to expert in their fields. I am honored – and cannot wait – to share whatever experience I have gained with entrepreneurs in Greece."
This will be Ms. Temin's first time representing the United States on behalf of the U.S. Department of State.
