U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Announces 30-Day Extension to June 19, 2015 of the Public Comment Period for the Briefing on Police Practices and Use of Force, Held April 20, 2015 in New York City
WASHINGTON, May 20, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights has approved an extension to the public comment period for the briefing on police practices that was held in New York City on April 20, 2015. The extension now allows for the Commission to consider the recent events in Baltimore, Maryland as it prepares its report on police practices around the country.
The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights will now keep the Police Practices and Use of Force briefing record open until June 19, 2015, which is an additional thirty days beyond the usual thirty-day limit. Any person or group wishing to submit a public comment is urged to email comments to [email protected] no later than midnight, Eastern Time, on June 19th, 2015.
