Bronfman's addition to the USLCC comes days after the U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced its formal support for the newly established AmCham. Both the USLCC and the Chamber maintain that the U.S. private sector must be at the forefront of providing requisite support to the Libyan people in this transitory period.
"USLCC's rapid development is further enhanced by the addition of Sara Bronfman to its board of directors," said Lionel Johnson, vice president of Middle East and North Africa Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce."
"At this crucial moment in Libya's history, participation of high profile citizens like Ms. Bronfman, from such an important family in the history of American enterprise sends a clear message to the Libyan people that the U.S. private sector is working tirelessly to support the governmental transition and to ensure greater economic prosperity for Libya's citizens than they have known in their history."
Sara Bronfman is the first board appointment to the USLCC.
