U.S. Chamber Foundation Announces Citizens Awards Finalists
Awards Recognize Excellence in Corporate Citizenship
WASHINGTON, Sept. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation today named the 25 finalists for the 2018 Corporate Citizenship Awards. For the 19th year, the awards will honor businesses and chambers of commerce from around the world for positive social and community initiatives.
"Every year, the Citizens Awards recognizes an outstanding group of businesses who are making a positive impact in communities around the world," said Marc DeCourcey, senior vice president of the U.S. Chamber Foundation. "This year's finalists exemplify the ability of the private sector to help solve some of today's greatest challenges."
Awards will be presented in eight categories for which finalists are listed below:
- Best Corporate Steward – Large Business
Finalists: The Boeing Company, Hilton Worldwide, and Mondelēz International - Best Corporate Steward – Small and Middle-Market Business
Finalists: Eagle Hill Consulting, Propeller, and Semper Capital Management - Best Commitment to Education Program
Finalists: AbbVie, IBM, and Tata Consultancy Services - Best Community Improvement Program
Finalists: Belden Inc., Keurig Dr. Pepper, and General Mills - Best Disaster Response & Community Resilience Program
Finalists: Fresenius Medical Care North America, GSK, and Johnson & Johnson - Best Economic Empowerment Program
Finalists: Accenture, Entergy Corporation, Timberland, and UBS - Best Environmental Stewardship Program
Finalists: Cox Enterprises, Ingersoll Rand, and Southwest Airlines - Best Health and Wellness Program
Finalists: Abbott and the Abbott Fund; Anthem Foundation; and Samsung Electronics America, Inc.
Winners in each category will be selected by a panel of corporate citizenship and business leaders and will be announced at the Corporate Citizenship Awards gala on November 15, 2018, in Washington, D.C.
