U.S. Cellular Selects Amdocs CES 8 Product Suite for Business Transformation Project
Amdocs software and services will provide operational and business support systems to enhance the customer experience via customer-care and retail channels

LOUIS, Jan. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced that U.S. Cellular has selected the Amdocs CES 8 product suite for its end-to-end business transformation project. In a milestone deal, U.S. Cellular has chosen Amdocs to replace its existing systems with new service activation, customer-care, billing, and retail solutions to support both pre-and postpaid customers. U.S. Cellular, recently named the best carrier in the United States by Consumer Reports, is the country's sixth-largest wireless provider, serving 6.2 million customers.
The transformation of U.S. Cellular's operational and business support systems will enable the Chicago-based company to extend its personalized customer focus by offering more targeted product and service recommendations, to further improve its market-leading service. Amdocs products will support the introduction and implementation of new voice and data services and Long Term Evolution (LTE) technologies to improve time to market, lower operational costs and elevate the overall customer experience.

Amdocs products and services will support a number of business processes, from customer ordering to service activation and billing. Products to be implemented include:
- Amdocs Customer Interaction Manager, which enables call-center agents to better serve customers and offer differentiated, personalized experiences ranging from fielding customer inquiries to rapid resolution of inquiries or issues.
- Amdocs Retail Interaction Manager, which improves the customer retail store experience by ensuring that associates in retail stores can access customers' pricing and service plans to offer the products and services right for them.
- Amdocs Convergent Charging (Turbo Charging), which uses a single, real-time process flow for both prepaid and postpaid scenarios and offers real-time services such as usage notifications to postpaid subscribers for better insight into individual data consumption.
- Amdocs Activation Manager, which activates new services rapidly and accurately by automating end-to-end service activation as well as supporting service activation across multiple vendors.
