U.S. Capital Advisors Hires Wealth Manager

HOUSTON, March 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Capital Advisors LLC ("USCA") announced today that Michael McConnell has joined the firm as a Managing Director.  Michael will focus primarily on working with energy entrepreneurs, offering those clients access to USCA's robust suite of wealth management solutions and helping them expand their businesses by facilitating access to growth capital.

Michael was previously a Vice President with Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management in Houston. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Michael co-founded Spring Street Partners, a Houston-based long/short equity hedge fund where he served as co-portfolio manager.  In addition to his public markets experience, Michael has structured a number of energy-related private equity transactions with a cumulative value of over $200 million in equity and debt. These transactions included Gulf Atlantic Refining and Marketing, an asphalt refinery that Michael and his partners purchased from El Paso Corp., as well as Greenbrier Minerals, a metallurgical coal producer based in Central Appalachia, where Michael remains on the board of directors.
