U.S. Capital Advisors Continues the Expansion of its Municipal Securities Business

HOUSTON, May 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Capital Advisors LLC ("USCA") announced that Jim Gilley, Lewis Wilks, Ben Rosenberg, Marian Willoughby and Julie Petersen have joined the firm to expand the Municipal Securities and Public Finance business.  USCA continues to focus on the growth of this important business, which is led by David Holland.

Mr. Holland is a Senior Managing Director at USCA and Head of Municipal Securities and Public Finance. Prior to USCA, he co-founded Coastal Securities in 1991 and led all municipal activities. In 1984, he co-founded Master Sanford Coon Ward & Holland. Mr. Holland graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1977.

Mr. Gilley, Managing Director, has served in the securities industry as a Public Finance professional for 39 years. Since 1974, he has worked in public finance and investment banking. His experience includes work with cities, counties, airports, school districts, river and water authorities, electric power issuers, special districts and economic development corporations. Mr. Gilley graduated from the University of Colorado and earned a MBA from Northwestern University.

Mr. Wilks, Managing Director, has worked with Texas schools for 27 years. He began his career with the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), serving as their Division Director of Financial Services. While there, he grew the Lone Star Investment Pool to over $2.5 billion in assets. Since 1998, he has served as Financial Advisor to more than 90 Texas public schools (including Charter Schools) and public facility corporations. Mr. Wilks has completed over $13 billion of municipal bond transactions. Mr. Wilks graduated from Abilene Christian University.

Mr. Rosenberg, Managing Director, is located in the Austin office of USCA and works with cities, counties, utility districts, water supply corporations, Texas Water Development Board financing programs and other governmental entities. Mr. Rosenberg is a former City Finance director and accounting industry professional. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin.

Ms. Willoughby, Director, has over 25 years of public finance experience. Her expertise includes debt structuring, analytical analysis, and capital planning and client interaction. She formerly worked for the City of Houston analyzing special projects, annexations, debt restructuring and economic forecasts. She graduated from St. Mary's/Notre Dame and earned a MBA from the University of Houston.

Ms. Petersen, Director, has over 16 years of municipal finance experience serving as Financial Advisor and Underwriter for a variety of issuers. These include cities, counties, utility districts, housing finance authorities, hospital districts and industrial development corporations. Her expertise includes structuring new money, refunding and tax credit bonds. She graduated from the University of Kentucky.
