U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, Students Ready for Embry-Riddle's Wings & Waves Air Show Over the Ocean Oct. 11-12
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Sept. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and a dozen other acts take to the skies, future engineers, business leaders and pilots of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will wow more than 100,000 visitors on the ground at this year's Embry-Riddle Wings & Waves Air Show in Daytona Beach. Free and open to the public, Wings & Waves happens over the Atlantic Ocean on Oct. 11-12, each day at 11:30 a.m., beachside at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort.
This year's event will include Embry-Riddle Community Zone at the Band Shell featuring hands-on activities for children with Kiddie Hawk and Aviation 101, student research projects including the EcoCar, a special tribute to World War II veterans and more.
Numerous Embry-Riddle alumni are scheduled to participate, including three Embry-Riddle graduates as lead pilots of the Thunderbirds, Quick Silver P-51 Mustang pilot Scooter Yoak and GEICO Skytyper lead solo pilot Steve Salmirs. Performers include:
