U.S. Air Force Recommends Pioneering's Safe-T-element® for Military Family Housing
Highlighted as a "Quality-of-Life" Improvement and Cost Saving Measure
SAN DIEGO, CA, Jan. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - Pioneering Technology Corp. (TSX-V: PTE; OTC BB: PTEFF), ("Pioneering"), an energy smart product innovation and consumer goods company, announced today that Headquarters for the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency ("HQ AFCESA") recommends the installation of Safe-T-element on all existing residential ranges to improve the "quality-of-life" for tenants of government-owned, government-operated Military Family Housing ("MFH"). The announcement was made at the Professional Housing Management Association/Military Housing and Lodging Institute's Professional Development & Trade Expo in San Diego.
The recent A-Gram written by Senior Fire Protection Engineer Raymond N. Hansen and distributed to all base civil engineers, fire prevention, facility managers and housing managers entitled Range Top Fire Prevention System for Residential Type Kitchen Ranges, instructed that, "(Military) installations now have the opportunity to prevent the most common cause of MFH fires and potentially reduce operating costs. This product (Safe-T-element) is unique because it prevents a fire rather than trying to suppress it".
The A-Gram goes on to highlight the following:
"Cooking is the leading cause of residential fires (44%). Previously, systems intended for fire suppression were the only option, but they cost more money than they saved. Now a solution is available that will prevent these fires from ever starting. This is the supplemental safety device known as the Safe-T-element"…
…"Installation of the Safe-T-element device on existing coil burner ranges is suggested as a "quality-of-life" improvement for tenants of government-owned, government-operated MFH. An additional benefit is reducing the number of responses that will be required from the installation's fire emergency services"…
…"Also, Section 6-3.2 of UFC 3-600-01, Fire Protection Engineering for Facilities, requires that a residential range-top extinguishing system be installed to protect certain residential-type ranges installed in non-residential-type buildings. The Safe-T-element device is approved in lieu of those required range top extinguishing systems, which will significantly reduce range installation costs and increase fire safety".
Pioneering's patented Safe-T-element cooking technology has a track record of success helping to prevent stove top cooking fires while also saving energy. Available on new ranges or as a retrofit, this technology is now installed on over 60,000 ranges in multi-residential housing throughout North America and in thousands of Military Family Housing units on U.S. military bases around the world.
Pioneering CEO Kevin Callahan noted that, "This is a very meaningful development for this technology which is having great success in MFH housing around the world helping protect those who protect us. We are grateful for the confidence the military has placed in this product and we are honored to be playing a small role in helping to protect these men and women and their families from the dangers of stovetop cooking fires".
