One in three women suffer from pelvic floor disorders, yet only one in 10 women discuss these issues with their primary care physician – and therefore, suffer in silence.
"As a specialist, I focus my clinical practice on comprehensive care of women with pelvic floor disorders, which include: prolapse-hernias of the vagina and womb, urinary incontinence, accidental bowel leakage and all other related problems," Dr. Lindo explained.
Dr. Lindo understands the pelvis is not a box separate to itself, it houses several organ systems such as the urinary system, gynecological system, reproductive organs, muscular skeletal system, gastrointestinal system, the nervous system. Each of the systems interact and are impacted when one is not working properly.
"It is important to evaluate each system and address the issue holistically," she continued. "My approach to care is to provide an environment where women can share their concerns and together we create a workable treatment plan that involves cutting edge conservative treatment options, and when necessary, surgical treatments."
