Urgent Need for Space in Silicon Valley
Family Giving Tree Needs 15K+ Square Feet to Prepare Backpacks for Bay Area Students In-Need
MILPITAS, Calif., July 11, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Family Giving Tree is in urgent need of warehouse or open space from July 25-August 31, 2016 to prepare donated backpacks and school supplies for 37,000 students in-need during this year's annual Back-to-School Drive.
"Companies and groups are busy raising donations and supplies to equip Bay Area students with the tools to learn, grow, and thrive in the coming school year. The backpacks and school supplies are due to arrive August 1, yet we have no place to receive and process them. We urgently need adequate space for our volunteers to prepare these amazing backpacks for our partner schools and agencies to distribute," says Family Giving Tree Executive Director and Co-Founder Jennifer Cullenbine.
The warehouse or open space needed must be a minimum of 15,000 square feet and include restrooms, lighting, electrical outlets, one loading dock, and street-level drive by access for loading and unloading.
According to Cullenbine, any location within Silicon Valley is suitable, though the ideal spot to make it easy for donation drop-offs by companies and organizations is an area bounded by Interstate Highway 880 on the east, Interstates 280/680 on the south, and as far north as Palo Alto.
Potential donors of warehouse or open space may reach Al Galan, Family Giving Tree Operations Director, at (408) 946-3111, extension 228 or [email protected].
