BIRMINGHAM, Ala., March 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Urgent Care for Children (UC4C), a Birmingham-based pediatric urgent care provider, co-founded by a group of physicians, has completed a second round of multi-million dollar fundraising led by McKinney Capital and Timberline Holdings. The funding will accelerate UC4C's growth and enhance its pediatric urgent care clinic operations throughout the southern United States.
"UC4C facilities throughout Alabama have established themselves in providing an unmatched continuum of care after-hours. The intent has always been to continue the emphasis of a primary care pediatrician as their medical home but provide a more cost-effective alternative to the pediatric emergency room," said Dr. Allury Arora, Founder and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Urgent Care for Children.
Urgent Care for Children intends to utilize the capital investment to scale its operations by expanding the clinic's footprint both within state borders and to surrounding states. Bannon Thorpe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Urgent Care for Children explains, "We are proud to continue our growth and extend our healthcare offerings to more communities, with an anticipated five to six new locations in 2020. Our priorities will always be to provide the highest quality patient care while continuing to innovate in the pediatric urgent care space, like becoming the nation's first sensory inclusive urgent care in 2019."
Urgent Care for Children opened its first clinic, located in Birmingham, in 2017, and opened its Trussville location in 2018, which was succeeded by the openings of clinics in Madison, Vestavia Hills and Tuscaloosa, respectively, in late 2019. The company runs Alabama's first physician-founded, highest patient-rated, pediatric urgent care facilities.
