URAC Awards Rising Medical Solutions With Full Accreditation

CHICAGO, March 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- URAC, a Washington, DC-based healthcare accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the healthcare industry, grants the Full Workers' Compensation Utilization Management Accreditation to Rising Medical Solutions for a second time. Currently, Rising is one of just 40 companies in America with this accreditation.

The URAC distinction complements Rising's 21+ Utilization Review certifications and licensures in various states that require such credentials, including California, Texas, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky and Massachusetts.

The standards are similar to the URAC Health Utilization Management standards but contain modifications that reflect the unique aspects of the workers' compensation environment and injured workers. Eight states and the District of Columbia recognize URAC Workers Compensation Utilization Management Accreditation in their workers' compensation programs.

Rising was originally awarded the accreditation in 2009 and its renewed accreditation runs through February 2014.
