UPO Launches Green Capital Home Improvement

WASHINGTON, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United Planning Organization today announced the creation of Green Capital Home Improvement, an enterprise designed to showcase UPO's ability in "green systems home improvement techniques" and at the same time provide employment opportunities for Washington, DC residents.

"Our launching of Green Capital Home Improvement is UPO's effort in helping Washington, DC become a much greener, eco-friendly city," noted Dana M. Jones, UPO's president and chief executive officer, adding, "UPO is very much interested in the creation of employment opportunities for DC residents." Mr. Jones, a veteran in the community action world, is a nationally recognized expert in the field of community housing development and rehabilitation.

Green Capital's specializations include painting, insulation, air sealing, and weatherization. Other areas are home energy audits, window replacements, and other general home improvements.

A component of UPO's newly created Green Technology Division, Green Capital Home Improvement will initially focus exclusively on the District of Columbia, later expanding into the entire metropolitan Washington, DC region.
