HARRISBURG, Pa., June 2, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO's Executive Council endorsed statewide judicial candidates at its June meeting. President Rick Bloomingdale, Secretary-Treasurer Frank Snyder and the sixty Vice-Presidents of the State Federation recognize the incredible importance of the judiciary in the daily lives of working people. The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO is proud to announce its support for the following candidates and their pro-worker philosophies.
For the open seat on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Executive Council endorsed Judge Dwayne Woodruff (D), currently serving on the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. The Federation also supports for retention on the state's highest court, Chief Justice Thomas Saylor (R) and Justice Debra Todd (D).
For the four open seats on the Pennsylvania Superior Court, the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Executive Council has endorsed Judge Deborah A. Kunselman (D), Judge Maria McLaughlin (D), Judge H. Geoffrey Moulton Jr. (D), and Judge Carolyn H. Nichols (D). The Federation also supports Judge Jacqueline O. Shogan (R) for retention.
On the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, Judge Ellen H. Ceisler (D) and former Judge Irene McLaughlin Clark (D) received the endorsement of the Executive Council.
The general election will be held on November 7, 2017.
