Update on Rescue Efforts From Massey Energy

JULIAN, W. Va., April 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Massey Energy Company (NYSE: MEE) released the following statement after Governor Manchin announced 29 fatalities at the Upper Big Branch Mine.

Massey's focus at this time is attending to the families to ensure they have the support they need. We continue to work diligently with state and federal authorities to try to determine the cause of this tragic explosion as quickly as possible.
