Update on Mother Emanuel AME Massacre Lawsuit to be Announced
Attorneys and victims' families to speak publicly about shooting and update negotiations
WASHINGTON, Oct. 28, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Families of the victims in the 2015 Mother Emanuel AME Church Massacre and their attorneys will hold a news conference today at 11:45 AM on the corner of 10th St. NW and Pennsylvania Ave. (in front of the U.S. Department of Justice) in order to give an update on settlement negotiations between the families of the victims and the Department of Justice.
In addition to the families' attorneys, including Bakari Sellers and SC State Sen. Gerald Malloy, SC State Sen. Ronnie Sabb and Mullins McLeod, Jennifer Pinckney, wife of the late SC Senator Clementa C. Pinckney, will be in attendance with the couple's children as well as Rev. Anthony Thompson, husband of the late Myra Thompson.
Pinckney and Thompson are both expected to speak.
