The announcement was made by Chris Johnson, Chairman of MADD's National Board of Directors. "We are pleased to have attracted someone with Kimberly's impressive non-profit background and experience as MADD prepares to start its fourth decade of working to eliminate drunk driving fatalities and injuries, serve the victims of drunk driving crashes, and prevent illegal underage drinking."
MADD will celebrate its 30th anniversary at a National Conference in the Washington, D.C. area in September.
"I am very much looking forward to joining an organization that has had such a profound impact on the way Americans behave while driving," Earle said. "Hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens are alive today because of MADD's advocacy and educational activities. We have so much to celebrate, but we still have much to do to create a safer tomorrow."
Starting at Komen for the Cure in 2007, Earle served as the organization's top operations and legal executive until 2010. She was responsible for leading Komen's affiliate network, which represents the organization's brand in communities across the nation and raises the majority of the organization's funds. Earle was also Secretary to Komen's National Board of Directors and was a founding board member and officer for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Advocacy Alliance®.
Prior to joining Komen, Earle was Vice President and General Counsel of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, which provides medical services without charge. One of her key responsibilities there was to collaborate with the development staff to cultivate and administer planned gifts. Throughout her non-profit career, Earle has been involved with solicitation of gifts such as charitable gift annuities, bequests, trusts, real property and corporate donations.
Earle is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama, with a degree in Spanish. She has a Master's Degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and a law degree from the University of California Berkeley. A former U.S. Marshall Memorial Fellow, Earle resides in Dallas.
