Wells Fargo & Company Analyst Notes
On May 12, 2014, Wells Fargo & Company's (Wells Fargo) home lending division announced the "What Makes A Home" contest, in which the Company will give three $250,000 cash prizes to three contestants who submit, in words and images, their answer to the contest question: "What makes a place feel like a home?" According to the Company, the consumers who submit a mortgage loan application with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage between April 1, 2014 and August 31, 2014 are eligible for the contest. Greg Gwizdz, Executive Vice President and National Retail Sales Manager, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage said, "Consumers who are ready to purchase a home may be working with their local realtor to find a home. We hope that they will also start a conversation with one of our home mortgage consultants to complete a loan application and submit an entry for the chance to win $250,000." Citigroup, Inc. Analyst Notes
On May 8, 2014, Citigroup Inc. (Citi) regained its status as the world's biggest currency trader after a long gap of 12 years, according to Euromoney's 2014 FX survey. The survey showed that Citi has beaten Deutsche Bank, winner for the previous nine years, by a narrow margin to top the overall market share rankings. According to the survey, Citi's market share increased to 16.04% -- enough to reclaim the top spot from Deutsche, whose market share this year was 15.67%. Euromoney's 2014 FX survey also pointed that Citi's market share has more-than-doubled since 2009 when it held a fifth-place ranking with a market share of just 7.32%. Citi had dominated the Euromoney survey since its inception in 1976, winning the overall ranking for the first 23 years. American International Group, Inc. Analyst Notes
On May 12, 2014, American International Group, Inc. (AIG) announced the results of its 2014 annual meeting of shareholders. AIG shareholders elected fourteen directors and also voted to support each of the four proposals put forth by the AIG Board of Directors. The shareholders voted in favour of the appointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as AIG's independent registered public accounting firm for 2014. Shareholders also approved, on an advisory basis, the compensation of named executive officers as well as ratified the amendment to extend the expiration of the AIG Tax Asset Protection Plan.
