On June 27, 2014, Emerson Electric Co. (Emerson) announced that it is evaluating strategic alternatives for its Power Transmission Solutions business, which is based in Florence, Kentucky. The aforesaid business currently employs over 3,000 employees around the world, and recorded revenue of over $600 million in 2013. The Company stated that it continually evaluates the mix and competitive positioning of its businesses to maximize shareholder value, which may include adding or divesting operations. The Power Transmission Solutions business unit of the Company designs and manufactures couplings, bearings, conveying components, gearing, drive components, as well as supporting services and solutions, with brands such as Browning, Jaure, Kop-Flex, McGill, Morse, Rollway, SealMaster, and System Plast. Raytheon Company Analyst Notes
On July 3, 2014, Raytheon Company (Raytheon) announced that it has been awarded with a $163.2 million fixed-price/fixed-price-incentive/cost-plus-incentive contract for Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) Program Support and Sustainment (PSAS). According to the Company, the contract provides sustaining engineering, program management, contractor logistics support, address diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortage tasks to extend the life of the AMRAAM Central Processing Unit, enhancing the AMRAAM guidance section within the current performance portfolio, and developing applicable test equipment.
