Univfy Online Fertility Prediction Tests to Donate 5% of Sales Toward Infertility Education & Advocacy Efforts
Personalized Analytics Deliver Instant IVF Success Prediction to Help Patients Make Confident Decisions; Univfy Launches New Partnership with RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association
LOS ALTOS, Calif., Jan. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Univfy, provider of the only validated online fertility prediction tests for patients considering in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment, launched a new partnership today with the nonprofit RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association in which the company will donate 5 percent of the proceeds from online consumer sales* of its Univfy PreIVF and Univfy PredictIVF fertility prediction tests to support RESOLVE's mission of improving the lives of people living with infertility.
Univfy is dedicated to helping infertility patients build healthy families by providing online, personalized, evidence-based tests to predict IVF treatment success. Univfy partnered with RESOLVE because of their shared vision to raise awareness of infertility and the benefits of seeking medical care early for the medical diagnosis that affects one in eight couples of childbearing age in the U.S.
"We believe the delivery of highly personalized prognostics enables patients to make more confident decisions about their treatment options and to access care sooner," said Mylene Yao, M.D., co-founder and CEO of Univfy. "RESOLVE's work provides a much-needed voice and valuable support to millions of Americans who are struggling with infertility. We are very pleased to partner with this dynamic organization by contributing funds to support RESOLVE's mission of providing education and advocacy services to men and women with infertility."
Univfy offers two prediction tests for consumers: the Univfy PreIVF for women considering IVF for the first time, and the Univfy PredictIVF for women who have had IVF and are considering another IVF treatment. Both are online questionnaires that patients complete in the privacy of their own home by simply entering their own individual health data.
To complete the tests, patients may need to have two simple laboratory tests: a hormonal blood test called Day 3 FSH and a semen analysis. In many cases, these have already been completed as part of a diagnostic workup and no new medical tests or procedures may be required. Univfy uses this data to analyze each patient's unique fertility profile, comparing it against data from thousands of IVF cycles and instantly delivers a personalized prognosis of IVF success that is 1,000 times more accurate than age-based estimates.
More importantly, with Univfy, many patients may now learn that their chances of success with IVF treatment are higher than typically estimated by age-based reporting. Probabilities predicted by Univfy's consumer prediction tests differed from age-based estimates in up to 80 percent of validated research cases, with more than half showing higher chances of success than age-estimates.
Univfy's website generates a report in real-time, giving the chances of having a baby with IVF and a percentile score showing their chances compare to those of a typical group of infertility patients. Patients are urged to take their Univfy test reports to their health care providers for counseling.
"We are delighted to launch RESOLVE's cause marketing partnership with Univfy," said Barbara Collura, RESOLVE's President/CEO. "RESOLVE supports women and men with infertility by providing them a community, connecting them with others who can help, empowering them to find resolution, and giving voice to their demands for access to all family building options."
The Univfy PreIVF test offers healthcare providers, including infertility specialists and obstetricians/gynecologists, a very targeted and evidence-based prognostics with which to counsel infertility patients about IVF treatment or referrals to see an infertility specialist. Never before has it been possible for providers and patients to have a validated and quantified measure of a patient's personalized chances of success with IVF.
The Univfy PredictIVF offers patients and infertility specialists a way to put together many pieces of clinical data, such as baseline reproductive health history, previous IVF treatment response and embryo quality, to give a quantitative and personalized measure of the chances of success in the next IVF treatment.
Univfy's prediction tests, developed based on groundbreaking research conducted at Stanford University and replicated at some of the world's leading fertility clinics, provide patients with the information they need to make more confident, informed decisions about their reproductive health.
Both the Univfy PreIVF and Univfy PredictIVF tests are available online now. To get started, or for more information, visit www.univfy.com.

Univfy will donate approximately 5% of the sale price (not including sales tax or shipping costs) from online consumer sales of its Univfy PreIVF and Univfy PredictIVF fertility prediction tests. Univfy will make a minimum contribution of $1,000 to RESOLVE regardless of the ultimate sales amount.
