University of San Francisco's School of Management to Host "Autonomous Vehicles and the City" Symposium on October 15
Second annual symposium will focus on the ways technology and innovation are reshaping how we move through cities
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The School of Management at the University of San Francisco (USF) will host the "Autonomous Vehicles and the City" symposium on Monday, October 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the McLaren Conference Center on the USF campus. The day-long symposium will bring together 200 national leaders in business, policy, and academia to discuss how we can innovate cities in the new mobility future focusing on economic growth, energy and the environment, land use and design, social justice, policy and management. The event will include expert panel discussions with representatives from companies including Arup, AC Transit, Arrivo-Loop, BMW, Brigade, Cruise, Fehr & Peers, Ford, Lime, Lyft, MayMobility, Populus, Proterra, Remix, Xapix and more.
"It's a revolutionary time as we think about the future of our cities and disruptive transport, thinking beyond the vehicle and considering how we can continue to innovate while promoting environmental sustainability and creating social value," stated School of Management Assistant Professor William Riggs, a global expert in the areas of autonomy and smart transportation, housing, economics and urban development.
The outcome of the event will conclude with two workshops on design and management with a focus on rethinking how we design and manage streets to respond to and inform new transportation innovations.
