PHOENIX, April 23, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- University of Phoenix has teamed up with Study.com, a leading online education platform, to accept credit from more than 150 eligible courses that can be accepted toward a University of Phoenix associate's or bachelor's degree. Courses can be completed within two to four weeks, depending on schedule, and work through a subscription plan, providing access to courses when needed.
Students can transfer the full credit for eligible courses as they complete their courses on Study.com, breaking down many of the barriers – like lack of time and financial hurdles – that can lead to graduation delays. To discover which Study.com courses can be transferred to University of Phoenix, view the online course transfer guide.
The transferrable credit program is another option to help the University's students earn college credit while balancing work and family commitments and save money in the process. Ninety-two percent of University of Phoenix students attend online and nearly 74 percent possess a "nontraditional characteristic," such as having one or more dependents or working full-time while enrolled.
"Study.com's flexible, on-demand learning environment is another option to help working adults juggling school and other responsibilities earn credit toward a quality higher education degree," said Dennis Bonilla, vice president of the University's Employer Partnership Group. "We believe Study.com will help provide even more students the ability to pursue their educational and career goals at University of Phoenix."
University of Phoenix is dedicated to making education more accessible, by offering one five- or six-week course at a time and evaluating students' relevant prior learning, work or military experience toward potential tuition-saving college credit. The University also has a commitment to offering affordable programs through its Tuition Guarantee, which locks in tuition from the program start through graduation. The Study.com alliance further supports the University's goal to help students decrease the financial burden of higher education through the ability to take approved courses via Study.com that will transfer to University of Phoenix programs.
Study.com courses can be taken online or through a mobile app – presented as engaging, self-paced videos – and are taught by instructors with several years of experience in their respective field. Study.com offers credits meeting equivalent academic standards to traditional higher education programs and have been evaluated and recommended credit by the American Council on Education (ACE) and the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS).
"Study.com is excited to collaborate with one of the pioneers in online education and bring our innovative, high-quality curriculum to University of Phoenix students," said Chris Mancini, Chief Growth Officer at Study.com. "University of Phoenix has been dedicated to providing quality higher education for working adults for more than 40 years. Together, we can further ensure that education is accessible and affordable for even more students."
