University Games Acquires American Plastic Equipment, Inc.
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 14, 2010 /PRNewswire/ --University Games of San Francisco, California and American Plastic Equipment, Inc. of Sebring, Ohio, jointly announce the acquisition by University Games of rights and tooling to certain classic games made during America's golden age of games. These well-recognized Baby Boomer games were introduced by the world's then largest toy manufacturers such as: Marx Toys (since 1919), Ideal Toy Corp. (since 1903), Transogram (since 1915), Gabriel Toys, Mego Corp, Aurora Products and Kohner Bros. of 1940 Toys.
Bob Moog, president of University Games stated that "...more than 100 games will be added to the library of University Games. These timeless treasures will complement our current game and Colorforms divisions. University Games plans to re-issue selected games of this strategic acquisition as classic collector games true to the originals. In addition this acquisition gives us a huge library of game content which will be integral to our new mobile and on-line strategy." The popular titles acquired include: KABOOM, Green Ghost, Kabala, Crazy Clock, Poppin'Hoppies, and the world famous line of Skittle games featuring Skittle Pool. All of these and more are planned to be reintroduced by University Games in broad game and electronic formats over the next three to five years.
