Universal Motown Republic Group (UMRG) Promotes Wayne Chernin to Senior Vice President of Sales and Field Marketing
NEW YORK, March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Motown Republic Group (UMRG) has promoted Wayne Chernin to Senior Vice President of Sales and Field Marketing, it was announced today by the company's Chairman Mel Lewinter, Universal Motown President Sylvia Rhone and Universal Republic President & CEO Monte Lipman. Formerly, Mr. Chernin served as Vice President of Sales & Field Marketing for the company.
Based in New York, Mr. Chernin will oversee all of the label group's sales activities, while spearheading extensive retail marketing efforts for both Universal Motown and Universal Republic.

Mr. Chernin began his tenure in the music industry at Polygram, where he held numerous positions, eventually becoming Vice President of Sales for Island Records. Throughout his career, he has worked with a broad array of artists, from such multi-platinum sellers as U2, Melissa Etheridge, Bon Jovi, Lil Wayne, 3 Doors Down , Erykah Badu and Godsmack, to newcomers Melanie Fiona and Owl City, among many others.
