Universal Map Group, LLC Announces Closing of American Map Transaction

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Map Group, LLC, ("Universal"), an affiliate of Kappa Media Group, Inc. ("Kappa"), announced today it has closed on the previously publicized transaction to acquire certain intellectual property and other assets of American Map Corporation; Hagstrom Map Company, Inc.; Alexandria Drafting Company; and Hammond World Atlas Corporation; subsidiaries of Langenscheidt Publishers, Inc. ("American Map"), a New York-based publisher of national and local maps sold throughout the United States. This transaction was originally announced on August 19, 2010. Universal plans to retain the American Map, Hagstrom and ADC trade names, and expand on its presence throughout the United States by marketing under the American Map, Universal and Kappa brand names.
