SAN DIEGO, Feb. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ernst & Young LLP announced today that Denise Hummel, CEO and founder of Universal Consensus, has joined the firm as a Principal in the Human Capital practice, focused on culture strategy. Hummel will help clients improve global business results and build lasting performance by enhancing corporate, national, gender and generational culture – a proven component of corporate risk management and financial success.
"Denise is globally recognized as a leader in effectively linking HR and cultural considerations with enterprise risk management," said George Brooks, EY Americas Director of Human Capital. "Her contributions will be invaluable to our clients as they embark on global expansion, expatriate international deployments, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures."
At Universal Consensus, Hummel consulted for leading global corporations and government entities including the U.S. State Department and the Pentagon. She also developed trademarked methodology, the Business Model of Intercultural Analysis (BMIA™).
EY also acquired the intellectual property of Universal Consensus including the proprietary culture methodology, the BMIA™ and welcomed four other Universal Consensus associates.
Hummel has provided cultural counsel and support throughout her career. Prior to founding Universal Consensus, she provided international communications services in Italy and was an international law practitioner focused on cross-cultural employment issues of disability, gender, race and age. That experience has enabled her to effectively link HR and cultural considerations with overall enterprise risk management impacts.
Hummel is a frequent speaker and a member of the U.S. State Department's Worldwide Speaker and Specialist Program, a program that connects American experts with foreign audiences upon embassy request. She is a published author, speaks several languages and is often featured in business media in the US and globally.
Hummel holds a Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law, American University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Barnard College, Columbia University.
