Univar announces deal with K2 Pure Solutions to market and distribute new production of hydrochloric acid

REDMOND, Wash., Aug. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Univar Inc., a leading global chemical distributor, announced today it has signed an agreement with long-standing partner, K2 Pure Solutions (K2 Pure) to market and distribute hydrochloric acid (HCL).

K2 Pure was one of the first manufacturers to create and deploy the cutting-edge process known as Inherently-Safe Technology (IST). IST enables the manufacture of chlor-alkali products, such as HCL, bleach, and caustic soda, using only water, salt, and electricity. This eliminates the hazards of importing railcars of chlorine that travel through heavily populated areas.
