From September 2013 to mid-October 2013, Business Solutions' VAR subscribers were asked to rate their vendor partners on a scale of zero (worst) to five (best) in seven categories: service and support, channel-friendliness, channel program, product features, product reliability, product innovation and VAR margins. Unitrends scored a near-perfect 4.95 rating for its channel program and product reliability, followed by a 4.90 rating in all other categories.    

After the numerical scores were tabulated, Business Solutions' editorial staff applied an extra layer of evaluation to determine where there was a clear break between the best-in-class vendors and the rest of the pack.
