United States Mint to Launch Glacier National Park Quarter April 13
WASHINGTON, April 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United States Mint will join National Park Service officials Wednesday, April 13 to launch the seventh coin in the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program honoring Glacier National Park. The ceremony will take place at Columbia Falls High School in Columbia Falls, Montana, at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Time (MT). Following the ceremony, there will be a coin exchange where the public can swap their currency for $10 rolls of the new Glacier National Park quarters.

The evening before the Glacier National Park launch ceremony—Tuesday, April 12,
at 5 p.m. MT—the United States Mint will hold a Coin Forum at the West Glacier Community Building, at Park Headquarters. The Coin Forum is an opportunity for the public to express their views about our Nation's coinage, and to learn about upcoming United States Mint coin programs and initiatives.
The America the Beautiful Quarters Program, authorized by Public Law 110-456, is a 12-year initiative to honor 56 national parks and other national sites. Each year, the public will see five new national sites depicted on the reverse (tails side) of the America the Beautiful Quarters. The United States Mint will issue these quarters in the order in which the honored site was first established as a national site.
