United States Mint Launches Millard Fillmore Presidential $1 Coin February 18
Event in Moravia, NY, will be first opportunity to get newest Presidential $1 Coin
WASHINGTON, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The newest Presidential $1 Coin bearing the image of President Millard Fillmore will be launched on Thursday, February 18 in ceremonies in Moravia, NY. The special ceremony will be held at 10 am Eastern Time at Moravia Central School, near former President Fillmore's birthplace in Locke (now Summerhill), NY. United States Mint Deputy Director Andrew Brunhart will join Cayuga County Historian Sheila Tucker and local educator John Haight for the event.
Following the ceremony, the public can exchange their paper currency for the new Millard Fillmore Presidential $1 Coin. Those 18 years and younger will receive a new Millard Fillmore Presidential $1 Coin to commemorate the event. The event is open to the public and the news media.

The Millard Fillmore Presidential $1 Coin will be available at banks and financial institutions beginning February 18. The coin is the 13th release in the United States Mint Presidential $1 Coin Program. The Presidential Dollar Coin Act of 2005 directed that the Nation honor its presidents by issuing four presidential dollar coins each year beginning in 2007.
