United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Issues Statement on January Jobs Report
WASHINGTON, Feb. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- President & CEO of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Javier Palomarez, today issued the following statement after the release of the January jobs report:
"Today's report indicates that 243,000 jobs were added to the U.S. job market in January. The unemployment rate among Hispanics dropped 0.5 percentage points to 10.5% (down 1.5% from January 2011). While encouraging, restoring healthy employment levels among Hispanics, as well as all Americans, remains at the forefront of our concern. It is clear that Congress and the Administration will need to enhance opportunities for small businesses and industries, to get America back to pre-recession levels of employment."
