United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation Advances Chamber Education Through Training Opportunities

WASHINGTON, Oct. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the University of Notre Dame are proud to recognize 62 individuals for completion of the Chamber Training Institute program on September 18 and 19 at the 2011 USHCC Annual National Convention in Miami Beach. The two-day training program, sponsored by Wells Fargo, offers Hispanic business men and women a top-tier course in personal and organizational branding, and building an innovative-sustainable business program.
A total of 108 participants took part in the training session which covered a number of relevant topics, such as building a personal brand, aligning it with an organizations' brand, managing it toward win-win outcomes, and how to maximize social media and digital marketing.
"With the increasing relevancy of social media and technology, topics like digital marketing and professional-personal brand identity have become critical in the business world," says Javier Palomarez, USHCC President & CEO. "We are offering Hispanic entrepreneurs training in these areas so they stay ahead of the trends, and can continue to grow professionally and succeed in their businesses."
As part of the two-day training session, Wells Fargo presented a session titled Thinking Outside the Box whereby small groups worked together to develop innovative-sustainable programs, including mock budgets, preparing marketing plans and metrics, which were presented and discussed with esteemed judges Tim Rios, SVP, Wells Fargo and USHCC Board Members Don Salazar and David Gomez.

Wells Fargo also announced that the company would be providing a $450,000 grant to help support two additional years of Chamber Training Institute sessions. "We believe that the determination and innovation of Hispanic entrepreneurs in this country is critical to our nation's economic recovery and growth."
The training in Miami Beach featured a number of distinguished speakers including Don Schindler of the University of Notre Dame who manages AgencyND, the internal marketing and communications department at the University, Bill Brennan, Director of MBA Program Initiatives in the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, Kim Brennan, Program Manager for the Master of Nonprofit Administration (MNA) Program at the University of Notre Dame, and Tim Rios, Senior Vice President, Wells Fargo.
