"With the fourth largest gas reserves in the world, Turkmenistan has the potential to be a significant economic powerhouse in Central Asia and we are excited to have been invited by President Berdimuhamedov to explore how American companies will work with the Government of Turkmenistan to realize this potential," said Eric Stewart, Executive Director of the U.S. Turkmenistan Business Council. "During President Berdimuhamedov's first speech in the U.S. as President in 2007, the President personally called on the American business community to first develop a business council, and then bring a mission to his country. Working with the U.S. business community has been one of the President's top priorities and we are directly responding to his vision of developing stronger ties between the United States and Turkmenistan," added Stewart.
The US-Turkmenistan Business Council's maiden business mission to Turkmenistan serves as a strong signal that Turkmenistan has been identified as a priority market for major American investors with a specific focus on energy, agri-business, aerospace, technology and infrastructure.
