United Spinal Association's #GivingTuesday Strengthens Wheelchair Users and All People with Disabilities: So Many Ways to Give

That's just what a brave, young woman named Marcela is doing. After her spinal cord injury (SCI), Marcela received Peer Mentor training through United Spinal Association's Peer Mentoring Program. Now she visits newly injured SCI patients at the hospital every week, offering counseling, understanding, and a New Beginning Backpack.

Marcela's outreach and the backpacks give SCI patients resources to prepare for the challenges of life in a wheelchair.

Advocacy -- United Spinal's Advocacy Alliance is made up of United Spinal members, grassroots advocates and other individuals who are invested in helping our community and improving the health, quality of life and independent living of people with disabilities.
