United Concordia and Partners to Provide Free Dental Services to Children in the Tucson Area
HARRISBURG, Pa., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- United Concordia Dental, one of the nation's largest dental insurers, is partnering with the YMCA of Southern Arizona and the Southern Arizona Dental Society to provide free dental services to 160 children in the Tucson area on Friday, June 4.
"For the past eight years, we've been helping promote dental health awareness in the communities we serve," said Woodrow Greene, community outreach coordinator for United Concordia Dental. "Through events like this one, we are helping deliver free dental care to children with minimal or no insurance."
Children will receive free dental screenings and fluoride varnishes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jacobs/City YMCA Program Center at 1010 West Lind St. in Tucson. Children with the most pressing dental needs will be directed to follow up care.
"With looming cuts to KidsCare and AHCCCS, this service will be critical to meeting the needs of our children," said Annemarie Medina, corporate health and wellness director for the YMCA of Southern Arizona.
The importance of good oral hygiene, including proper brushing and flossing techniques will also be discussed with the children during the event.
