GLASTONBURY, Conn., April 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- United Bank today announced that its Chief Executive Officer, William H.W. Crawford IV, has been invited to participate in a breakout session titled "Competing for Customers and Talent" at SNL's 4th Annual Community Banker Conference on April 15-16 in Florida.
According to SNL, this breakout session will focus on the following:
Community banks face competition from many angles: credit unions, specialty lenders, branchless banks, regional and super-regional banks and even non-banks such as ApplePay, Google Wallet and PayPal. In this session we'll discuss what community banks can do to rival these competitors, and adapt the traditional community banking model to provide a higher quality and more robust service for all customers. We'll also discuss how banks can compete for and retain younger talent in an effort to solve for the future human capital problem in banking.
"Competing for Customers and Talent" will take place on the second day of the two-day conference on Thursday, April 16 at 11:00 am (ET).
Crawford will discuss why talent acquisition is so important today in the banking industry, including the components of a strong talent acquisition strategy and capability when it comes to recruiting and building an industry leading management team and Board of Directors. Under Crawford's leadership, United Bank has been very successful in recruiting the best talent on the national, regional and local levels.
Joining Crawford in presenting during this breakout session and taking questions from conference participants will be Mary Beth Sullivan, Managing Partner of Capital Performance Group (CPG), a management consulting firm in Washington, DC. that provides advisory, planning, analytic, and project management services to the financial services industry, including banks, investment companies, industry trade associations, vendors to the industry and government agencies involved in the financial services industry.
