United is official airline of NAHJ special events for 2013
CHICAGO, March 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines announced today that it has renewed its partnership with the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ). United once again will be the official airline of the organization's special events throughout the year.
"United is very pleased to continue its sponsorship of the NAHJ," said Nene Foxhall, United's executive vice president, communications and government affairs. "We welcome the opportunity to be part of the organization's workshops and other activities around the country in support of the professional advancement of Hispanics in the news industry."
The United-NAHJ partnership includes support for the 2013 NAHJ Hall of Fame Gala during the Excellence in Journalism conference Aug. 24-26, in Anaheim, Calif., held in conjunction with the Radio Television Digital News Association and the Society of Professional Journalists. The partnership also supports the NAHJ Professional Awards and Ruben Salazar Scholarship Benefit in fall 2013; regional professional development and networking events in major cities throughout the country, as well as a number of local NAHJ chapter fundraisers. In addition, United will sponsor a day-long conference on Latin American Issues in the fall.
"NAHJ has no better friend and partner in championing the advancement of Latino journalists than United Airlines," said Hugo Balta, NAHJ president. "Their investment makes it possible for NAHJ to produce the many events and programming that energize and empower our members."
United began its support of the NAHJ in 2005.
