UNIT4 Expands Operations in Asia Pacific
Customers Choosing Change-Centric Software over Competitive Systems
SLIEDRECHT, The Netherlands, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ - UNIT4, the world's leading provider of change-embracing enterprise resource planning (ERP) and financial management software, today announced growth and expansion in Asia Pacific, reporting a 36% increase in license and service revenue in H1 2010 compared with the previous year.
UNIT4 Asia, which formerly sold only CODA financial management solutions, recently launched Agresso ERP into the region and has signed its first Agresso Business World customer, shipping specialist Pacific Carriers Limited. Shipping & logistics and financial services have been strong sectors for UNIT4 in Asia, characterized by companies that are subject to relentless organizational and regulatory change. Other new customers include JB Ugland Shipping Singapore Pte Ltd, Freightmark Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Toyota Capital Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Goodwood Park Hotel, York Hotel and Labuan Reinsurance (L) LTD.
"Asia is an important market for UNIT4 and we have ambitious expansion plans for the region," said Weng Foo Chua, general manager, UNIT4 Asia. "Singapore and Malaysia are our key markets, and Singapore in particular is seeing a period of record growth. Companies expect more from their IT investments and no longer default to Oracle and SAP to meet their ERP requirements. With specialist CODA financial software and the flexible Agresso Business World ERP suite, we offer the choice, functionality and expertise that will support companies with changing business requirements long into the future."
UNIT4 also has plans to expand its presence in Indonesia during the second half of the year.
"Asia will play a strategic role in UNIT4's international development plan," said Chris Ouwinga, President and CEO, UNIT4 Group. "The markets in Singapore and Malaysia are recovering earlier than most of the Asia-Pacific, and we see opportunity for expanding activity in the region and optimizing the product mix we offer. Many organizations are choosing to invest in new business software to enable them to cope with the difficult and changing market conditions more efficiently and effectively, or to make restructuring easier."
