UNIT4 Agresso completes name change to UNIT4 Business Software
New name and brand identity emphasizes global presence of company and heralds plans for expansion into North American market
DALLAS and VICTORIA, May 4 /PRNewswire/ - UNIT4 Business Software (www.unit4software.com), a leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) software company, is announcing the final completion of its transition from the name Agresso North America to UNIT4 Business Software. A subsidiary of European parent UNIT4 (www.unit4.com), the North American company is joining the other companies in the group worldwide and rallying under the name UNIT4 to prepare for the group's next stage of growth. The name's unveiling marks a pivotal year for the North American company and signifies a stronger focus on its unique message to the marketplace: embracing change.
"We have completed our transition to a new name and brand and are excited to join the global UNIT4 group in positioning ourselves for growth," remarks Shelley Zapp, president of UNIT4 Agresso. "We offer the same great Agresso Business World product and we serve and support the same thriving customer community, but we are now emphasizing the global presence of UNIT4 and we have a renewed focused on helping organizations embrace change."
Recent studies from CFO Research and IDC (see footnotes below) provide independent evidence of just how much it is costing organizations to keep rigid ERP systems up-to-date; the cost of making changes plus the costs of the resulting disruption are dwarfing the original investment in license fees and maintenance. This situation is creating fertile ground for UNIT4 Business Software's leading ERP product for organizations living in change, Agresso Business World, which has the unique feature of post-implementation agility - the ability for business users to make changes to the ERP system quickly and easily, after implementation, without involving IT or external consultants.
After successfully navigating a challenging economic environment, the company has reason to celebrate the marketplace's growing interest in its message to embrace change. The company signed significant deals in the latter half of 2009, including such names as the Louisiana Supreme Court, Meyers Norris Penny LLP, and King County Housing Authority. It also saw successful go-lives at Emeritus Senior Living, Township of Langley, the City of Ventura, CA and the Houston Zoo, proving the company's ability to implement its ERP solution reliably on time and on budget.
"Our new name and brand will expand our profile in the North American marketplace," continues Zapp. "Emphasizing our membership in a group that is a top six mid-market ERP software player globally reminds people that we offer Tier-1 solutions that have been proven in markets around the world. We can leverage this international presence along with our local knowledge and expertise to build on our success in the North American market. Our global roots are particularly advantageous in areas such as IFRS compliance, where we can provide critical expertise."
The company plans a full launch of the new name and brand at the North American Agresso Connects User Conference in Vancouver BC in May 2010.
