Unisys Rises in Annual IDC Government Insights Federal IT Rankings

BLUE BELL, Pa., Oct. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) announced today that the company was ranked number eight on IDC Government Insights' annual IDC Federal IT Rankings.

Each year, IDC Government Insights – an industry analyst firm focused on government technology – ranks government IT contractors and global technology companies based on revenues for hardware, software and IT services. This year, Unisys was ranked number eight on the list of global IT enterprise companies that derive less than one-third of their revenues from government institutions. The new ranking represents a move up the list in the past year for Unisys, which placed ninth in 2016.

According to IDC Government Insights, its ranking is unique in that it measures companies solely on the basis of IT revenues and does not measure non-IT revenues related to areas such as other professional, management and consulting services.

In addition, Washington Technology magazine selected Unisys Federal as a finalist for its Industry Innovators program. The publication will announce award winners October 19 at a reception in McLean, Va.

The Washington Technology Industry Innovators program honors "contractors who are changing the shape of their companies to become more innovative and better serve their customers." The publication evaluated vendors on factors such as restructuring initiatives, technology alliances and strategic hires. The publication named Unisys a finalist based on the company's recent initiatives to reinvigorate its federal sales and delivery activities.
