Unisys Launches Global Innovation Center in Colombia

BOGOTA, Colombia, April 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced the launch of the Unisys Global Innovation Center in Bogota, the capital of Colombia. This unit will be focused on the creation of tailored IT solutions for Unisys clients around the world. The Bogota center will be the second of its kind that Unisys has established worldwide, complementing the company's initial center in India.

Highly skilled solution architects at the center will design and deliver specialized IT services that enable global enterprises to take on their most critical business challenges and enhance the end-user experience for their employees, partners and clients.

Beginning in April 2015, the professionals at the Bogota Center will provide end-user solutions expertise and support for businesses in the United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. Unisys expects that the center will expand to include software professionals focused on security and data center solutions. The company plans to have nearly 20 professionals on staff at the Bogota center by the end of 2015.

Colombia: exports high level knowledge 

The skilled professionals at the Bogota center, with access to the latest technologies and methodologies available in the market, will create and deliver solutions in a multilingual setting.

Unisys chose the Colombian capital city as the headquarters for the new Innovation Center because of the advantages it offers in logistics and economic and political stability. Unisys also considered factors such as economic growth, infrastructure, time zone difference compared to the United States, competitiveness and a sophisticated culture aligned with that of the U.S.

This new center is the latest of Unisys' investments in Colombia as a key country for development and delivery of IT services. Currently, Unisys has two other managed services centers in Colombia: in Rionegro (close to Medellin) and in Bogota. Those two managed services centers employ more than 700 professionals providing Spanish-speaking users with world-class services.
