Unisys Introduces Managed Public Key Infrastructure Service to Help Organizations Authenticate and Secure Endpoints, Mobile Devices, Virtual Services and Internet of Things
New service offering bolsters Zero Trust security by centrally managing authentication of devices across the organization, continually updating security as new requirements emerge
SAN FRANCISCO, March 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- RSA CONFERENCE 2019 -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today launched Unisys Managed Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), a new service that centrally manages the process by which organizations authenticate users and devices on their networks.
As cyber risks multiply with the growth of cloud computing, mobile devices and the Internet of Things, private and public sector organizations must ensure that everything on their networks – including servers, devices, domains, people, business apps and cloud services – is authenticated to securely communicate inside and outside the enterprise.
Powered by a platform from PKI service provider HydrantID, Unisys Managed PKI is an essential element of a Zero Trust security model that allows organizations to outsource the complexity of running a best-in-class PKI while not relinquishing control of their trusted assets. Unisys' unique, dedicated management process and security model ensures only authorized access to protected materials with no vendor lock-in. And Unisys continually engages with clients to enhance and optimize their PKI deployments on an ongoing basis as new requirements emerge.
PKI is a set of policies and procedures to create, manage, distribute, use, store and revoke digital certificates that authenticate the identities of users and devices. Many organizations depend on PKI to secure activities such as financial transactions, e-commerce, internet banking and email.
Through this service, Unisys Security Solutions consultants initially work with clients to conduct an initial PKI requirements assessment and workshop to understand their current and future PKI needs based on the client's specific security and technology use cases. The Unisys managed services team then provides turnkey services to achieve their PKI security objectives – including PKI hierarchy design, root key generation, ongoing certificate authority and validation operations, certificate lifecycle automation and key management services.
During ongoing operations, Unisys continues to collaboratively engage with clients to discuss and enhance ways to optimize the PKI deployment as requirements evolve. Unisys works continually to ensure PKI deployments continue to mature and align with the organization's needs.
"Unisys is pleased to add Managed PKI to our portfolio of services to help clients implement Zero Trust security in their organizations," said Jonathan Goldberger, vice president of Security Solutions, Unisys. "Working with the proven solution from HydrantID gives us the performance and flexibility we need to address our clients' needs to help them maintain trust by continually ensuring that people and devices on their networks are authenticated – while monitoring the implementation to adapt to changing requirements."
